30th reunion on saturday had a great turnout! although i was in a dumpy mood, was so glad to see chiobu and ailin again. were supposed to meet at changi v at 0945, but we only did around 1130, cos everyone knows not to go too early... hee.
on the boat ride, where you're not supposed to stand at the back to enjoy the wind anymore:
and at tian chi fence, which was holed up (again) and cut open by kind charitable souls for community benefits (again).
and it's as beautiful as it ever was. all in the process of being destroyed by the government of course. when they skipped over chek jawa, they had to demolish something else. heard that all the water's going to be taken out and they're going to reopen the quarry again.
we entered to relive memories of our youth, but got lost:
but the old path was there. our aspiring khaki-clad, white socked, leg-haired juniors might have cleared it. this is a small peep of the quarry near the bottom, with leaves artfully overexposed. as was intended.
what later generations of oac-ers will never see again:
14 of the Obese Activities Club sucking on fruit:
here's a parting picture of the ubin shore masquerading as maui. only that it's so much more beautiful :)
if anyone wants to go to ubin, do it now! before they build (even more) little huts, spray out the mosquitoes, domesticate the wild boars, or start a coconut plantation to fund the thirsty touristing industry.
