Flashbacks: Sem 3 exams Chatterbox camp

breakfast

this sem's exams mugging passed much more happily than i could have hoped for. thought it'd me me and junyi and yiteng left in each of our solitary misery - you know, the born alone die alone thing - but freshie yung hei was with us (freshie mug for what i don't know) and gabriel seah and jian hao were around much also.

cheesecake and full cream milk

good pizza, but forgot the name boo

hear the wisdom of one who has gone through trials: exams spread out is much smarter than exams squished together, even if it does feel worse. i judged that my second sem's four exams in the first two days of the exam weeks were, in fact, not the clever and devious move i thought it'd be, to finish faster and gloat earlier. this sem, my demise stretched from the beginning to the end, two whole weeks, plus a few days at the end where i got to write my last essay in agonizing leisure.

post exams, when everybody was watching youtube, and yours truly's essaying tragedy was hidden behind towels

also, had 2 nights of heroes marathon. almost finished watching the whole season 1. the first night we even had a projector :D hope next sem's exams are as fun. in a manner of speaking.

MUMMY!! IT'S OVERRRRR!!!!!!!!

Cited! Paginated! Counted! SENT!!! my last friggin' essay of the term DONE!! and today's like school holiday already, the first day, and i spent it writing 3000+ words from 7.30am to 11pm which is like now, non-stop. i applaud my self-discipline, i thought i was going to die, really, at about oh, 250 words, considering that this has been double-extended, and also that i started with 0 words half dead in the morning.

Essays I Wrote This Sem or Why Meishi Went To Town Only Twice in 4 Months:
  1. Chinese Thought and Culture - Patriarchy in China [9000+ words]
  2. USS Response 1 - (something about sad state of s'pore education, as exemplified by MOE delegate the speaker) [1200+ words]
  3. USS Response 2 - Value of order vs chaos in Singapore tourism [700+ words]
  4. USS Response 3 - Reflections on Eric Khoo's short film 'No Off Day'. Which i haven't watched yet. [500 words]
  5. USS term paper - Efficiency vs Chaos in urban planning: how much is desirable [1200+]
  6. Folio editing - Homophobia and the Singapore Government [edited 3 times!! roar!!]
  7. PS1101e - s377a and the Singapore political culture [1800+]
  8. Politics of Heritage - Cambodia paper [1800+]
  9. Politics of Heritage - Local paper [1500+]
  10. Politics of Heritage - Construction of Reality in Second Life [3000++ WHICH I FINISHED IN ONE DAY HUZZAH!! XDDD]
my holidays thus begin, with the dearest hope that people will hire me for internship, but to the dismay that nobody would oblige me. sigh.

Things to do during Dec break:

- HCAP research on most probably spatial engineering. Expected output: 10-page lit review, many meetings
- Polo trainings. Expected output: less cui, very tired
- Internship (tentative). Expected output: next sem's tuition + first month pocket money
- Bloomberg course (online). Expected output: Bloomberg basic certification *value-add level up!*
- Christmas caroling for AIDS hospice. Expected output: false sense of humanitarian spirit and generosity

am going for internship interview tmr right after my last paper. pfft. then after that coming to chatterbox to write my final accursed essay for the semester, which is due AFTER the official end of term. wtf.

had a Heroes screening yesterday night. managed to watch 10 espisodes at a go, whoo hoo! borrowed projector from upstairs office, and set it up in the chatterbox MC room. hail our vibrant and dynamic for-all-the-good-reasons community :D

also, see this family of algae accompanying me in studying:
